This is an Empire 2 wheel tractor made in 1947 with model B Briggs and Stratton engine . It was restored to what you see and then donated to the Coldwater Ontario Museum not running . They asked me if I could get it running . It had no spark and an oil leak out the front . After a little diag time . I found the crank seal pushed out , thus the oil leak. It looks like it had been apart and when the front plate was put back out the seal pushed out of place . The points push rod was stuck out and the points were not coming together . The condenser was replace with 12v coil type

wrong answer. I clean everything up and set the points , replaced the condenser with appropriate one . There is spark , it has compression . Now just need to go through the fuel system and check the oil and we should have fire in the hole .
There is a set of disks as well as the cultivators you see there. Heavy beast . Good thing it has sprag clutches on each wheel or you would never turn it .

I’ve said it before, I’m sure it was better than being behind a horse but not by much! Although the guys I see using them on the plowing stuff Noel posts don’t seem to really be wrestling them too much. I think I’ll stick with a tractor seat as much as possible! Once your done with it I hope the museum will run it every now and again.

Picked this up with a batch of scrap a number of years ago.
It's origin is unknown. So far it has not been spared from scrap run but has came close.
@DavidBarkey Your post has given rise to thoughts of giving it a second life.

They are fairly simple but really useful machines .

I got it running the other day which is good , but of course that showed other things that need attention . Carb needs a kit , clutch will not disengage , and the wheel ratchets need springs . But all in all not bad , some one tried to get this old thing functional again and got alot of the stuff clean up , painted and new tires but I guess got frustrated in the end and gave it to the museum and now my job to finish it .
