Case Log Splitter ? Ontario Canada

Just saw this ad on FB Marketplace...

I've never seen a Case splitter in the flesh - but this looks a lot like the photos I have seen and drooled over
- especially the two way double sided splitting wedge.
I'd love to pick this up for myself, but on Friday I purchased a new 37 ton splitter from the Peavey Mart - 'Store Closing' - 'Going out of business sale'
I think
would have words to say
if I suggested buying a 2nd log splitter in 2 days...

Gerry like Bob mentioned it was a good price, so doesn’t surprise me it went fast. I personally prefer a separate splitting machine instead of using a GT for that chore. That’s just me maybe that’s why I have so many tractors, one for every job plus a few backups.

I didn’t need it. I have my home made splitter that hooks to my Case 224. But I would like to have it.

@propane1 - it was a case of needs and wants, and to be honest I really don't need it either - but I still 'wanted' it -
This followed me home last Thursday
9.5 HP Kohler engine, 5"cylinder and a 10" blade... It's probably 10x the splitter I need, but it shouldn't struggle with any of the rounds I'll cut up at the property.
It's been fun explaining how even though we currently don't have anything at the Roost to burn firewood in - we should start processing some of the logs now that I've already cut. So they can be seasoned and ready to go when we are actually need them -finding out you don't just split and throw it on the fire has been a bit of a learning curve for
@Harry - I agree totally about having a separate splitting machine - the Case GT's have a simple hydraulic system, but I've spent plenty of time cleaning out hydraulics on big machines after something grenades and spreads chunks everywhere. Plus... It puts fewer running hours on the Old Case engines... And I only have one machine with a 3 point hitch.

I have several customers using the J32 splitters that don't have a 3 point hitch. They just position the splitter at a comfortable working height by the woodpile, back the tractor up and connect the hoses when needed.

This is my set up. You might have seen it before.
Case 224 with the rear hydraulic pto, two ports. Wood splitter I put on an axle. Put a hitch on the front and haul it around like a trailer. Hook up the two hoses and you’re in splitting business. I run the engine around 2400 rpm or so. Cycle time is around 12/14 seconds. Hydraulic oil temperature gets to about 130F. Works great, splits 95% of every thing.

Gerry yours looks a like my splitter. I always use it in the verticle position which makes it easier on my back.
