Drill press

I recently sold a Buffalo brand drill press. A collector of Buffalo brand drill presses purchased it so I got a good price for it. Today I drove to Rochester, NY and purchased an old school Royal drill press which is very similar to the Buffalo. It came with a nice set of larger drill bits, a vice, mag light and a fox shop cart. I’ll sell the shop cart but keep everything else. When it was all done I’m still a little money ahead even including the gas money. I tried to reach member Ray Simmons, he lives close to where I purchased the press. No answer when I called him this morning. :peace: Harry

I took sometime today to mount the press in its new home, my shop. Found out the toggle switch was finicky so I installed a new one. Works fine now. Also the handle for the spindle lock was broken off. So quick weld job for the cast iron handle and back in service. It’s basically the same as the Buffalo press but I now have the set of 35 larger drill bits and the vise. :peace: Harry

You always impress me @Harry , with your great finds. I got rid of my drill press just before leaving Canada, for almost nothing; it was heavy and awkward to carry. The second market here in Romania is really terrible for tools. Some people bring tools from Western Europe and sell them here, but the prices are huge and the quality is rarely like the old American tools. I'll by a new drill press, probably Chinese. It'll work, and hopefully it'll last. I already miss the second hand market from Canada :D
