Colt Case Ingersoll Garden Tractors

I don't have an hour meter in the snow blower tractor (Blower Project with the genny engine and cab ) I now call "Justin Case" just in case it snows . When I get it finally painted next year , I going to have that lettered on it .
I estomate about 15-16 hours blowing snow already this season . How's that for seat time . How are you doing ?
Now I have a circular drive with 2 entrances off the road and have to keep clear out to and in front of the chickens and ducks runs . Plus I go down the road and do an elderly neighbours drive now which pays for my gas . All this time in the tractor is keeping me out of the shop .
But that is way ahead of last years numbers .

I’ve only had to move snow twice so far. Main driveway only takes less than an hour. Side driveway that goes back to the shop is a stove driveway, so I don’t scrape it down. I just skim off a little snow. The other day the belt twisted off the blower after ramming a pile of packed snow. I parked it in the shop where I already had it heated up. Got out the 444 with utility blade to clean up the mess. I had fun angling the blade to move the snow to the sides. Then straighten the blade to push the snow back. I had a new belt in the shop so I installed it then also installed the tire chains on the 444. Now I’m ready for more snow which is supposed to come today. Just come back in from clearing another 4-5 inches of snow that fell over night .

I've had the snow shovel out twice - each time to clear an inch of slushy snow before it got trampled down into ice...
So... 4 trips up and down 80' of sidewalk ... Think I'm up to an hour of Boot and Shovel time so far this season.

Working on Maxine (the 222) today time to get her ready to frolic in the flakes if mother nature ever shifts the wind direction a bit ...
(Battery out and on the charger, Installing tire chains, rear wheel weights, changing the front tires for something more aggressive than bald multi-rib tires... and maybe a cold weather engine oil change)

A garage would be nice... (or maybe I should have done this a month ago when it still felt like late summer )

Yeah @propane1 We've been seriously spoiled with a warm autumn in Southern Ontario again this year, it was so easy to let things slide and think "I can always do that tomorrow..."

I was outside painting shutters and trim on the front of the house in mid November

Seems like we are starting to lose shoulder seasons, Spring and Fall come and go in the blink of an eye. Warm summers seem to last forever. One day it's T-Shirts and shorts weather and the next day you are looking for snow boots and your winter woollies.

I kind of miss "sweater" weather

I am putting my cab on the tractor that only blew snow 5 times in two years. I have a stone drive. So, if possible I have drive on the snow to create a snow cap. I normally get more snow than that. The storms kept going north and south of me.

The cab's fender mounting point was rusty, so I have been prepping and painting it while the cab is still hanging in the garage. I will then stick some felt cushions on them to avoid scratching the fenders and hopefully get away with just footrest bolts. If needed, I will drill just one hole in the fender.

No snow here yet. I don't think I have 16hrs on my tractor since July. Until recently it's been very dry here. My blowers mounted, suitcase weights are on but the wheel weights, chains and cab are not on.

Steve , felt will hold moisture . Rubber from an old inner tube ect. would serve you better in this case .

- Hibernation Time sounds like a great idea.

I try to motivate myself by thinking I used to spend 50 - 60 hours a week working outside in all kinds of weather, but then the voices inside my head remind me that I don't pay myself anything like previous employers did.

As long as I can make one more trip up north to get the tractors inside their shipping container before the snow really accumulates my conscience will be clear. Then we can concentrate on tidying and purging junk from inside the house in the city. Also want to figure out which tote at the property I accidentally packed ALL of my winter work clothes into

I have better than that. It will most likely never get wet, so that is not much of a concern. The felt was just what I found in my stash of odds and ends.

But when you said rubber, it reminded me that I have had a rubber truck bed that I have been cutting pieces off for years now. Then I have the Super 99 3M spray glue or something close to that name.

Nothing worth mentioning for me yet... Still haven't gotten the blower, and chains on the Case. I was ready to do it. The leaf vac lives behind the Diamond T in the barn. Naturally, the battery was dead on the T. (not naturally, that thing lasts forever) So on with the charger. No luck, so had to order a new battery. (big 6v batteries don't sit on the shelves around me)

That came in Friday, and I got it, but I was out of town this weekend. So hopefully next weekend I can get that in, and move things around for snow season. I'm ready with the 8N now, and the JD300 is ready except chains, which only go on if it's serious, so no real worry, but I do really prefer the blower if we get anything more than a couple inches.

Got 10 years on that Diamond T battery. Not bad for a system that sees virtually no use, and a lot of cranking when it does. The 6v batteries seem to hold up forever compared to their 12v bretheren.
