Colt Case Ingersoll Garden Tractors

Seems strange but I have been working on my 1985 448, fitting my snowcaster, trying to get my new-to-me EZ clutch working as I want but during the process I noticed that the actuation arm (at least that's what i think caused this) has bent the B48M RH (from seat) rear engine tin back. I guess in my endeavors I could bend it back but what have others experienced here? How do I stop this happening again? should I be bending this back into place or just replacing? I guess the word is HELP!

Can you get a picture of what your seeing, I'll take a look at my 448.

Couple of things to note here are that I am convinced that before the Snow Blower was fitted there was no damage and the damage occurred as the blower was raised off the ground by the hydraulics and looking closer it seems to be the arm holding the chute handle I guess the question - did I miss somethink and well do I just bend it back, buy new, what?

Your snowcaster or at least the lift arm is an older model that was supplied with Kohler engine powered tractors. When used with Onan engines the interference that you mention occurs. We cut off the crank support and reweld it to the pipe 6-8" further ahead to eliminate the problem.

Bob, my thanks ! From what you have said it makes perfect sense. Now I just need a "friend" to re weld the part for me. BTW the caster is a J model and has been used on my 1977 446 with a B&S 18hp till last year.

So I found three different part numbers for the damaged part! The negine in question is an ONAN B48M fitted to a 1985 (S/N varified but could be 1986 model). The part numbers I have are:
C20362
C24951
C28034

I err towards the last number but could be persuaded otherwise.
Checked online but none are available so I guess I'm into reworking what I have .. any help on how I should do that?

Thanks Bob, when you said "ahead" do you mean closer to the handle or closer to the caster?

Closer to the caster so that it doesn't travel back far enough to contact the shield.
