Ray, I was just going to post this GT which I saw late last night. It appears to be a project and he is trying to move it which he calls a Ingersoll Rand. So again from a previous members post, the seller has no idea what he has. I mentioned this to a friend of mine close to my location . He said he wasn’t interested. Marilla is only 45 minutes from Lockport where I live. I don’t need another project and probably shouldn’t say I’m not interested. I said that before I looked at the 644 lbh and ended up buying it. I’m currently on vacation for two weeks so maybe I’ll get lucky and someone will buy it. If it’s not gone when I get home I’ll probably have to go take a peek. Yes I have the fever. Harry

Harry, I was thinking of asking you to pick it up for me. After a short pause, collected my thoughts, did a reality check and didn't make a phone call. But wow, it is a great package for someone unless the seller is thinking Ingersoll Rand prices.

Yes I saw that.. Unfortunately if you see a good deal usually someone else did too. No time to "think" about it you need to move quick, else its gone..

It just amazes me the number of people will provide a picture that clearly shows "Ingersoll", then will call it an "Ingersoll Rand" in the description.

I don't think that is them so much as the software selecting that as you type it in .

I’ve been a tradesman my working career so I know Ingersoll Rand makes compressors and air tools. If someone thinks Ingersoll Rand makes GT’s I know they are not a tool guy and probably knows next to nothing about about mechanical equipment. Which is probably why the seller never got around to fixing the 4120. My ramble for this morning gentlemen! Harry

It's easy for us to be hard on the people that think they're Ingersoll Rand, because we're involved with the gear.

Until I bought my first 646, I had never head of an Ingersoll GT, but I sure knew Ingersoll Rand from compressors, and some heavy equipment. It wouldn't have been much of a mental leap to make that assumption. Case/Ingersoll barely had a footprint in the areas I've lived, so it never surprises me when people don't know what they're talking about.

I mean if Porsche, and Lamborghini can make tractors, why wouldn't I/R? Companies have often taken detours from their "normal" area of business.

Just being the devils advocate on the Ingersoll / Ingersoll Rand discussion... Perhaps they are confused by seeing old Bobcat skid steers - Bobcat was a subsidiary of Ingersoll Rand from '95 to '07 (it was then sold to Doosan) Many of the old ones had prominent "Ingersoll Rand" logos on them...

Many of the Old Bobcats had Ingersoll Rand logos on them? Bobcats were never used much in my local area. There was a dealer in Buffalo but not in Lockport until ten years ago. Not just three miles from my house there is a huge Bobcat Doosan Morbark dealer. From small Bobcats to very large excavators. They just dozed another space for a larger parking lot and adding an addition on the building. In my mind when I hear Case Ingersoll, I think hydraulic. When I hear Ingersoll Rand I think pneumatic. Bobcat skid steers have had an interesting corporate life... Melroe, Clark, Ingersoll-Rand, and finally Doosan, I've also seen them with the IR Swoosh logo on the sides... I'll agree that my first thought of Ingersoll-Rand is pneumatics, air tools, industrial compressors and rock drills...
