Colt Case Ingersoll Garden Tractors

After installing 2 or 3 hydraulic pumps I finely got smarter and cut a couple bolt heads off for studs in order to align the pump to the engine. That makes it a lot easier to install the bolts.

Has anyone welded the two back motor mount bolts to the frame? Seems like a easy way to install the nuts on the bolts. I have had a hard time holding the bolt in place then using wrench to tighten the nuts.

I don't know about welding the bolts in.. The Loaders - 646 are so totally different from the 300 - 400's. But in the case of my 646 I put helicoils into the holes in the frame, which is about 3/8" thick on a 646 so I can run the bolts in without nuts on the bottom on them..

How about welding nuts under the frame and run the bolts in from the top? Harry

That would work also. The only problem is the clearance on the flywheel shout.
I'm going to try both ways later and let you know how it goes.
