Colt Case Ingersoll Garden Tractors

My new to me rotary mower has some pretty worn out blades. I’ve got a set in fairly good shape to I figured it switch them out this evening. Holy heck , the bolts won’t move! I’ve done everything I can think of. Heat, pressure, air hammer, sledge hammer, air chisel. I cursed at it, I prayed over it they won’t budge.
I even went so far as to pull out my secret weapon!
I used the bucket to jack against but again no luck

So looking for something I haven’t tried. If you guys have any ideas I’d sure take them, these are stuck worse that Herbie the trucks lug nut were

So after a wasted evening the new plan for now is to break out the grinder and sharpen the old blades use the mower as is for the season and revisit this in the fall! I’m thinking this will end up with a cutting torch and some new bolts!

I’m sorry, in my worked up condition I forgot to explain I got the nuts off no problem. The bolts seem to be rusted in the holes. Looks like 1 inch steel block the bolts run through to hold the blades on. As far as I can tell they should drop out with the nuts removed.

I don’t think so. I can’t find any information showing that they are threaded in. Everything I can find just show the bolt slips through the block and the nut holds it. Looks like it’s a 1 inch grade 5 bolt to me.

Is it possible to get the hub off and hammer on the bolts from the backside? I guess in the worst case scenario you could drill out the bolts

I might have to. Take the hub off. I sharpened the old blades and tried it out again. I think I’ll use it as is for now. This would probably make a good winter project!

That actually sounds like a good plan, get through the season and tear it down when you don't need it.
