Taking a day of forced rest and doing it while setting at the bay windows has its perks. We see them catching thermals over head regularly. Seeing preflight warmup is a first.

3 off these birds perched on our shed before catching thermals this afternoon. They may have decided to use our long neglected tree house as a roost.

Is there a dead Deere nearby?

We have tons of them around here. They ride the thermals in big circles over our place all the time.

When a bunch of them come over I always feel like I need to jump up and dance a jig so they know I’m not on the menu!

I see them in my location, usually feeding on road kill. :peace: Harry

We have them in Northern Illinois as well, must thrive everywhere. Although only in the summer months, haven't seen any for awhile.
