Hay @Eugen @RoamingGnome I hope it’s not too late to jump down the rabbit hole with you guys!
I have the same dreams as you Eugen. I envision cows added to our fields, but as you know life tends to get in the way! Oh well making the hay is a good milestone for now.

Fellas I gotta say that’s the craziest hog I’ve ever seen! Never heard of a pig in sheep’s clothing! :D

As far as butchering goes I remember the first time I was allowed to go with the grownups to butcher hogs. It was quite an experience and it left an impression. I couldn’t eat bacon or sausage for about a week! But I got over it and never had a problem after that. After many years of participating in butchering hogs and cattle and wild game I often times found it helpful to harden my heart to job at hand, and concentrate on doing the best job I could, not only to produce the best product I could but also to make sure the animal didn’t die in vein. I absolutely agree with the idea of having an understanding about where your food comes from and if possible taking a role in its production. I think it makes you appreciate that nice steak more if you do.

Anyway there’s my butchering ramble from down the rabbit hole! :D

Nice disks Harry. I’d say they would cut pretty good. Nice loader tractors.

Noel, yes they chopped up the plowed garden’s nicely. I like the way my troybilt tiller with the 13 hp engine tills. So after discing I tilled to make the soil beautiful for planting. I will take a few pics if the gardens. :peace: Harry

@Harry Does your 646 with those massive tires ever loose traction?

@Harry I really like the look of the yellow combine weights. I painted mine silver as to look like the newer Ingersoll with the silver rims but I like yellow / black combination better now. I'm thinking I'll ask the local home hardware to mix some dark yellow alkyd paint for me next time it goes on sale.
