Wind shut then down yesterday morning. Between sand in their eyes and windchill, they made it until 10am. They are back at it again today Scheduled for a 2 pm pour today.

Moving right along! Once the slab is poured how long will they wait to build on it?

Temps here today was 17f/-8c degrees The stem wall poured was an Artic 1 mix and finished at 4 pm. Tomorrow morning the forms will be stripped. Monday we will backfill with tampers running parallel on both sides of the wall. 2 feet of wall is above grade. Tuesday the sillplates will be install and 8 foot studs mounted on 4 foor centers. On the studs will be 30 foot obi joist spanning the width of the building. Over the structure will be a tarp covering the building. Wednesday will be a standard mix pour of a 6" floor. After troweling the temporay building ends will be closed . 2 propane heaters will going for at least 12 hours. Construction will halt until after New Years to allow the floor cure.

Day 5backfilling begins.outer trench gets backfilled across overhead door cutouts.Insulation was added to the below grade portion of the stem wall before backfill.A first priority was to make an access path at the front to backfill the inner trench. Both sides of the stem wall were backfilled simultaneously to relieve stress on the green wall during compaction.Backfilling the inner trench was completed 6 inches below grade and covered with 6" of A gravel.A gravel was spread and packedOnce packing was near completion laser leveling took place. The far end was shot level and the front 20 feet given a 3 inch slope in 20 feet. We finished pad grading with an hour of light rain.

looking good Eugene . This mild weather will help things along . Hopefully it stays that way until dried in .

Day 6 & 7 myself and 2 others begin building a tent over the pad. It will stay in place until mid January. All material used will be recycled into the permanent structure.framework was up by noon of day 7 Grading was completed while tarp went on. Temporary building is ready for tomorrow's pour.

Day 8
Up at 5:30, concrete finisher is in a panic. Temperature is -4c/25f and he thinks this is our first kick at the can.First placement of mud. 6" artic2 mix with fiberglass. One of 3 truckload.Looking good.One space heater kept floor temperature above 40 degrees. At the end of the day there is nothing to complain about.
