Storm is over, still a bit windy and drifting some. Not as much snow as two weeks ago, I don’t think. I’m sure I can get out the door with no trouble. But what ever amount it is, it’s to much. Hehe. So I’ll get out later maybe and see how much is really down.

Getting a little snow now , not as cold . Which is good . With all the sun and stupid cold nights I have a downspout froze up under the deck . It has never done that before putting the deck on the front . I think because the tube being shaded now and no snow at the base where it goes into the ground has caused it to freeze up at the base before it could all drain away . That will be todays adventure . get it thawed out and pack hay bays around it for now .

So the Case 446 did well. After a year and a half of working on it, to finally get a good run throwing snow, about three hours of run time. No break downs, lots of power, great traction. Doesn’t throw snow that far, thrower design, had to rethrow snow three times to get it off the driveway into the woods, snow falls on the belt when snow deeper than thrower, thrower design, steering traction not the greatest ? But overall a good tractor and thrower. Was pinging a bit under load. Does it need high test fuel. And used some oil too. Not smoking thou.

@Propane57 Noel What oil are you running in it ? Carbon build up will make it ping . Lean will cause ping, Ethanol will cause lean . Oil usage will cause carbon build up . I run 15w40 diesel oil summer 5w40 diesel winter and Seafoam in all my gas year round . I have never needed to decarbon the heads on Frankie . He is in need of some new gaskets and seals and valves cut while in there this summer , but have not touch the engine in 7 years other than change oil, filters and change plugs.

I’d say running rich Dave , because of the black on my nice paint at the exhaust outlet. Hehe. So I need to adjust that. I run 10w-30 in all tractors summer and winter. Just much simpler that way. Some engines use oil under load and some don’t. She had quite a work out today. It has not run like that since I got it and old owners didn’t run it that much either, then it sat for a few years before I got it. I am going to add some transmission fluid to the gas and oil to help with the carbon, if there is any. What do you run for fuel. Regular or high test.

Hehe, well, I will say they all have their pros and cons Eugen. Hehe. But the Case sure showed them today. All tractors were a giggling this morning when I went to take the Case out, for the first work out, they weren't a giggling when I put the Case back in.
