AHVFB / AHVFC Hydra vac

Mounted the AHVFB Hydra vac on the 4118 today to get started on leaf clean up.
Removed the 3pt and installed the mounting plate
Mounted the deck baffle and boot in the AHRM48 deck.
Mounted the vac onto the tractor. On the AH tractors the return hydraulic hose from the deck must have the quick coupler turned 180° and attached to the vac and the return hydraulic hose from the vac is attached to the tractor. Then the case drain must be hooked up.
Connect the suction hoses and your ready to go.
The only difference between the AHVFB and the AHVFC is the AHVFB has the bracket for the bagger attachment.

Good instructions Tim!
Hope they help someone someday and help build the site.

Tim,
What is the white thing on the bottom RH side of you tower? Thanks for posting the pictures!

We all love seeing this Case equipment in use and learn from others. I appreciate every post!

Sharp eye Bill, I tried to keep it out of the picture.

it is a gallon plastic oil jug.
I should start a new thread but I can hijack my own thread.
Last fall when I was really digging into the poor performance issues of my AHRM48 and 4118 Gator (rip) and Brian H had brought up the possibility of the relief valve dumping off oil as a possibility. To rule it out, I disconnected the discharge line from the relief valve that connects to the inlet of the hydraulic pump. I plugged the pump side and ran a piece of hose from the relief valve to that jug to see if any oil was getting past the relief. Not a drop has.
I've been waiting till I change the hydraulic oil and filter this fall to put things back the way they belong. Then I only have to drain the system once.

I can't even imagine pulling my 3pt off in order to put the hydravac on. Could an adapter be built to mount the hydravac to the 3pt arms?
Something along these lines: 3pt arms in blue, the existing frame-to-hydravac mount in red, 3pt-to-hydravac adapter in black:
You'd need a special/short toplink.
But I'd have to do SOMETHING.

The HH34 only has 4 bolts and the 2 hydraulic hoses to remove, the vac bracket uses the same 4 bolts. It only takes a few minutes to swap.
I have seen a few mounted to the 3pt. There may have been a kit or option at one time. Otherwise I seen a few nice fab jobs by other Case Ingersoll nuts. A selector valve would be needed.

I modified one to fit a 448 with 3 point. The vac is heavy enough that front weights are required when hanging on three point. I will try to post pictures of it tomorrow..
Spike.

Here is a 3PT mounted hydravac. I'm not sure who made this...

That's simple enough, they just turned the mounting bracket upside down and bolted it to the drawbar and fastened the top link to the hitch.
Clean looking.

Here is my grass hopper bagger I converted a few years back. I don't have to even get off the tractor to dump it. I was going to install it yesterday but it was raining off and on all day. Maybe tonight I can get it on and get some work done with it.

I can see where the pictures that Matt sent would need weight on the front end. Setting it back that far changes the whole need for weight. But it is a simple way to go about it.
The second set of pictures from TimJ with the 3 point setup keeps the rig closer to the back-end and might not need the extra weight in front . I know with my traditional mount CASE leaf vac pulling the trailer and headed up hill, the front gets a bit light when trying to turn. Never been an issue, but it does get light! I choose where I want to fight my battles!!!!

I also find my front sliding more, especially with the bagger on. A little weight on the front would definitely help.
The screenshots I posted are from one for sale in Michigan I found on Marketplace today.

I think I have seen that one before! Been tempted a few times for the reason mentioned about having to change from 3 point to the leaf vac bracket.

This is how I converted my B-98 hydravac blower to 3 point for the 446. It's close enough to the tractor so no front weight needed.

Bob,
I like the way you made the 3rd link a part of the mount. That totaly negates the need for using cylinder depth stops to prevent the hitch from moving while lowering the deck.
Nice work indeed.
Spike.

Bob,
I like that setup you have used for the 3 point. I have seen the 3 point shown above. Looks a lot like yours as far as the third link. I would like to see a few shots of the top on your wagon, also.
Thanks!

Spike, you're right, but since I have a Selector Valve, that wasn't a concern for me, I just wanted the draw bar for the cart/trailer to always be the right height. The design is just a modification of the OEM bracket .

Bill, my son fabricated the 3 point bracket, I just provided the shop drawings/specs and the blower. (You may have seen my pics on the CCI forum)
Here are more pics of my cart cover made of aluminum with SS hinge. I got tired of wrestling with the old canvas cover and patching it.
