Thanks Harry. Hopping every one has a great weekend.

I was out on a antique tractor run today with my 51 Ferguson. Some nice day. And the weather was perfect. Smiles all day. :D :D :D :D

Going tomorrow to the Pontiac IL Thresherman's Reunion, this year the J I Case Heritage Expo is being held there. Planning to meet up with a cousin of my 87 year old mother and one of his cousins that I have never met but is an avid J I Case collector from Minnesota with over 35 tractors.

Will try to post a couple of pictures for any that are interested in the older AG tractors.

Went to a car show yesterday that is usually the best of the season here. They get a few cars from Ontario some from Rochester and a lot from the WNY area. Many crazy ones with the big blowers and rat rods and a few original classic cars. I took a couple pics of an unusual scooter called fender flyer, electric powered. :peace: Harry

Hope everyone is having a relaxing, productive Labour Day long weekend.
Been a busy weekend around our house...
PXL_20230902_195224629.jpg
Fri was a crazy day trip to the property up north - 10 hrs of driving and 2 hrs of 'doing stuff' - :69:
PXL_20230902_193947809.jpg
Weeds are still growing like crazy - :fight: - next trip is going to be a weedwhacking adventure...
PXL_20230902_192106115.jpg
Took some industrial shelving and misc stuff up - when the weeds have been cut down to size I'll put some shelves together...

For a change of pace we went to a small Heritage Farm Show a couple of hrs west of us today -
First thing inside the entrance was a display of vintage Garden Tractors - No Case there though... :(

Threshing demonstration,
PXL_20230903_182308877.jpg
a couple of old cars,

@Harry thats a neat scooter. I’m trying to figure out what those fenders came off of!

@RoamingGnome After a 10 hour drive I don’t think I would be up for 2 hours of work! Is that your normal drive from you current house up to your property?

Looks like you found a good show thanks for the pictures, I hope you can get some from tomorrows show!

@JSinMO Sorry, I'm crazy but not that crazy - it's 300 miles one way - 6 hrs to get there, 5 hrs for the drive home - the big wildcard is driving through Toronto traffic - it seems to always be under construction, and it's never fun.

Happy Labor Day again. A 5:30 wakeup and no granola. Fresh homemade yogurt and

20230904_063801.jpg
Applesauce made yesterday. Starting the day without granola was enough to loose sleep over.

Now that problem is solved

@Eugen That big pot is apples for sauce. M likesa brand of granola that is hard to find sometimes. I use 2 cups large flake oates, 1-1/2 cups of mixed nuts or seeds, whatever is on hand, sunflower, pumpkin, walnuts, cashews,..... flavor with 1/8cup brown sugar, 1/ tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, 1/8 tsp cloves. Mix dry ingredients. Add to the mix 1/8 cup honey, 1/8 honey and 1/2 tsp vanilla. Bake on cookie sheet 30 minutes at 325. Stir every 10 minutes.
Some recipes call for a 1/4 cup oil but I leave it out.

Nice! I am happy with daily boiled steel cut oats but :wife: insists on throwing in it all sorts of hard to identify seeds and fruit. She days I need it and I comply. She asks almost every day if I like it, my reply is always "it's very good!" I really like oatmeal. 😃

My mom and I spent two or three nights at the Pontiac hospital a little over 54 years ago.

Note that I'll turn 55 this spring.

Haha Bob, you young whipper snapper! :giggle:

I don't know why, but I always seem to have the distinct thought that it'll go pretty fast, before starting to work on electrical. Yet, hours later I'm still fiddling with wires, connectors, crimper, heat shrink tubing, and all that paraphernalia. However, the rebuilt K321 is bolted in, all new wires, and it's alive.

This as just a sanity test. Still needs the exhaust done and various little things to be put back on.

Looking good @Eugen!

I always find it's the fiddly stuff that makes you wonder where the hours (or day) has gone - working and working, not realizing just how much time has flown by because I'm concentrating so hard. Certainly feels good when it's all done though

Milton Steam Era... Gosh it was hot and humid today - Tractors were spread out over a large field, with not much shade in sight. We didn't stay too long, :wife: was starting to melt :dizzy: and that's never a good thing.

@RoamingGnome Looks like it was a pretty good show. Too bad it was so hot. I really like seeing the steam engines work. They have that distinct sound and smell that’s like nothing else!

I spend part of the day getting stuff together to start 2nd cut hay. But it was really hot here too. Hopefully I’ll be cutting tomorrow!

Took a short drive to the Central States Threshermen's Reunion in Pontiac IL on Sunday afternoon, this year they were hosting the Case Heritage Expo. Met up with my 2nd cousin Gary Zilm from Custer Park, IL and his cousin Don Zilm from Owatonna, MN whom I had never met. Don is quite an interesting guy and has around 125 Case tractors in his collection.

This show is huge! The second longest running steam power show in the US, you could spend several days there and not see everything, here is a link:

http://www.threshermensreunion.org/

I've attached several pictures for your enjoyment, hopefully I am not too inept to have them show up.

To give you an idea of the size, one Case collector (Zachary Farms from Ottawa, IL) brought 15 semi loads of equipment.

Thanks for posting the pics Bob. The show looks like it was terrific. I went to a show in WNY last year that I thought was huge. This show must have been the show of shows to attend. Fifteen tractor trailer loads from one collector, amazing. :peace: Harry
