I already have a new piece of pipe, so with a little heat I'll have a lift arm bent up in no time. Wish my other one wasn't 3hrs away, I could use it for a pattern. I'll have to see if I can get my cousin or uncle's, don't think my uncle has his blower on. I could wing it, but with a pattern it will look OEM.
I figured for the price even if it wasn't too good, I would have a mule to use if I find a Berco. But actually spins incredibly free, quiet, and true.

Got a little more ready for winter this weekend, sticking with my theme of waiting past the last minute. actually mixed in-between a bunch of other things it was a good Case weekend. Shed rearranged and deck and sweeper put to bed for winter. Chains fixed and blade put on 448.
Woke up Sunday to about 2.5" of sloppy snow. Picked up a snow caster locally that popped up.

Not pretty but mechanically sound, PO had set up for a backup but is starting to sell off his collection. I just need to fab a lift bar and chute crank.
Also came home with a new cutting edge for a 54" blade for $20..

I had just looked at mine on Saturday and thought that it's getting due so I was pretty happy.

My other bit of good fortune over the weekend was discovering the cause of the 448's missing.
Progressively this fall it has been starting harder and missing at idle when cold. The warm up time for it to stop was getting longer and taking more rpms to smooth out. I had been contemplating my game plan. Plugs looked good but I was going to replace them and the wires and go from there.
When I was priming and bleeding the hydraulics it had started easily and ran smoothly while cranking the engine without choking. But I wasn't really thinking about it at the time. When I started it on Saturday it missed again, was kinda messing around and heard the snapping. The straight boot plug wire touches the hood. the hood was actually pulling the boot off the plug. When I was messing with the hydraulics the hood was open.
The correct plug wires should be a angle boot.

Tim - I took some quick pictures with approximate measurements of my SB48's lift arm and chute rotation handle. My handle has an extension and an extra bracket on the lift arm. I assume this was a factory option with my CB34 cab. If you need more pictures or measurements, let me know.
