@DavidBarkey Bad connections or worn out components? On one of my tractors? That doesn’t seem right!

Seriously though that’s a very good point. Whenever I get to it I’ll have to check and at least clean up the connections. I never checked the main ground now that I’m thinking about it. The tractor had a bad solenoid when I brought it home from the auction. Didn’t think much of it at the time but now you have me wondering…..

Yeah that's right Jeff, never happened to me either!

You guys may not remember but back in 2022 I was playing around with either putting “skies” or pipe on the blade of the 446 for snow plow work. You can go back and look around page 8 or 9 of this thread if you like. I realized today I never updated that idea to let you know how it worked. To be fair since then we really haven’t had much snow. I think I posted pictures plowing with the tractor once between then and now.

So I went with the 2” pipe as you can see in a lot of pictures I’ve posted. This last snow we had was a really good test and I can report I’m happy with the performance. It pushed well without getting into the gravel underneath. So I think I’ll be sticking with this. The only issue I see is I tend to end up with a very slick hard pack when I’m done. The problem is our weather here never stays below freezing for long. So we go through thawing and refreezing sometime daily. Just makes what’s left icy. My solution to this is to just use an old section of harrow and drag the driveway to keep the ice broken up. Seems to work pretty good. If we were in a colder climate I suppose I would be more worried about making more of a base to drive on for the season.
