@Spike188 Eugene , I have fixed motor like that before . Clean the barrel with a ball hone or sand paper on a stick to bare metal , clean and glue in place the magnets with slow cure JB Weld . paint the inside of barrel next day with Tremclad . When paint is dry reassemble and paint outside of the motor . As long as twas no damage to the armature you be all set .

My travels took me well off the beaten path today, thought I would share a couple of pictures and a little history.
I was in central Missouri and passed through some old river towns. I bet this was a busy place 100 years ago, and now it’s slowly fading into history like so many old towns and villages now days. The Amtrak passenger train still passes through but doesn’t even slow down here anymore. I met a local historian and gave a lot the history of the area. One of the earliest homes built in 1828 still stands but it’s in very poor condition now.

This area of the state along the Missouri Rive is wine country. There are many vineyards dotting the hill side for miles and miles. World renowned wines are made here rivaling anything produced in Napa Valley or France. In fact it was Missouri root stock that helped save the French wine industry back in the 1870’s

A few towns over I found the old US Boatworks on the Missouri River at the mouth’s of the Gasconade River. Unfortunately I couldn’t get any closer but you can see the supervisor quarters and some of the boat yard.
It started in the late 1800 making river boats and was later taken over by the Army Corps of Engineers. In WW2 they built many vessels for the war effort and housed German POWs.

A lot of driving but an enjoyable day exploring!

It's 100 feet garage door to shop door. Plans were to putter in the shop today but I saw this from the National Weather Advisory.
Ayr weather advisory: It not advisable for walking to work. Avoid walking and stay off of sidewalks and pathways.

Merri is suggesting that there is house work that needs to be done. I may ignore the weather advisory.

Spike really windy here today. Was busy this morning gathering Christmas decorations blowing around the yard. Been working changing hinges on the doors of the 446 winter machine. I never liked the direction they hinged. I think I’ll clean up the kitchen dishes and vacuum the house and maybe start taking down some indoor decorations. I did notice two trees that have fallen down but they can wait. Harry

we have had high winds and more snow . Hard to tell just how much due to the blowing , but think around another 6" with at least a little snow each day for the next week .The roller coaster of temps has left skating rinks for driveways here . I spent time yesterday as the temps were dropping running the tractor around ruffing up the driveways before it froze solid again . To give some perspective on the lakes around here , Lake Simcoe on Boxing day was wide open to the shore line with white caps . Usually the bays have ice on them . I think anyone down wind from the Great Lakes will see periods of heavy lake affect snow again this year . Who gets it will depend more on wind direction than anything .
