Colt Case Ingersoll Garden Tractors

Well today was our annual trip to the tractor show.
I didn’t take many pictures this year but I thought I’d share a couple.

Here is a nice Economy tractor. These hit and miss engines reminded me of Mr. Dave’s recent work on his. We did stay and watch some of the pulls as usual.
This guy had a rough night. He won his division, but broke the wheel hub doing it!
At least he didn’t break an axel.

Good idea however the loam pile is on the driveway.

I’m running chains and no weights on my 446. The difference in traction is huge with just chains, but your right Matt you really have to watch it on paved areas.

I had another 8 yards of loam delivered yesterday. While working to spread the loam, the right rear tire broke loose a few times and kept out a low squeal. I'm still working to find the limit before that happens.

I need to fill under my deck probably up to 8" in some areas. Instead of using loam, I dug out 8" or so deep probably 30' long where I had my sunflowers planted. The soil here is sandy/rocky fill from the contractor.

Took the family to B.F. Clyde's Cider Mill in Stonington CT yesterday. They claim to be the oldest steam powered cider mill in the United States. Place was packed so most of these photos were shot at close range with a kid in my arms.

The apples come in off the truck on a conveyer belt to a steam powered grinder located upstairs. The ground apples come down a chute and are loaded into canvas sort of bags to be pressed between the wooden slats. Several layers are created and then pressed. The press control levers are on the right in the 4th photo. The steam whistle is good and loud.

Thanks @MattA , that looks like a press that can produce high tonage. I wonder how much ware there is on the jack screws near the bottom of the stroke.

I rerouted my rear PTO case drain a few weekends back so that I can get my tractor into low range without laying under my tractor pushing the hydraulic lines out of the hi/low range lever. My tractor has the webbed backhoe transaxle and ideally should have the under seat PTO but it doesn't... so the hydraulic lines have to route around the side a bit. In the past I've tried securing the lines together with zip ties but eventually the hydraulic lines move around again. Figured I'd try moving the case drain line. Works for now...

Not much to show but here it is. Two small additions, one for the bathroom and the other for the woodburning furnace and related apparatus.
No wood construction here, all masonry. Septic and water well still not done. I've mixed and poured lots of concrete.

The bathroom walls will be bricks, the furnace room wall is made with these white blocks # a type of light and better insulating extruded cement.
