Down this way we went from 8 to 10 inches of snow on the ground to a forecast of 70 degrees for Christmas Day! I’ll sure enjoy that.

The early thaw reduced the snow pack to less than half . The high winds carried away most of the moister . The returning cold temps have hardened things up again . We did get a little snow but did more blowing around than accumilating . Fortunately with the high winds no power outages . I think all that might have come down was allready down last years ice storm .

Cold then warmer then cold again. Very high winds last night many if our Christmas decorations had to be uprighted or at least adjusted. More snow predicted but rain with warmer temperatures on the way. I do enjoy not having to move the snow. Harry

here too , but only 7C and rain this evening here, and just for fun it's then going below freezing . Took advantage of the warmer weather and put the studs in the 3 rib front tires of the 446 blower tractor . 20251218_111958.jpg20251218_111947.jpg pack of a 100 4mm x 12mm long . studs for lesss than $25 seams to make a difference already. We will see what they do when things freeze up .

Well guys , these little studs make a huge differance in turning on hard packed or ice . Enough so that I am going to put more in splitting the rows from about 2" apart to 1" . But that will have to waight until after the new year when I can get it in the shop again .

-6C here today, with snow squalls. 15-20cm maybe. Sunny one minute, snow storm the next.

We got around 2" of real heavy, wet snow along with wet sleet while I was out of town. That packed down to about 1" of kinda crappy ice by the time I got home yesterday...

The Subaru drove right over it without leaving a mark.

Fired up the 8N, and dropped the blade, and it too went right over it without a mark other than from the chains...

Put 50# of calcium down on it, and hung about 400# of iron on the frame of the blade. It finally started scraping. 2.5 hours later I had it down to where the tips of the gravel in the asphault were poking up. Put another 50# of calcium down and called it a night.

Left for work at 3am, and it looked a little better, but we'd gotten a little freezing drizzle, so it was like glass coating everything.

Looks ok on the cameras today since the temps came up. Lots of bare if wet asphault areas to be seen.
Late April can't come soon enough as far as weather goes...

Another foot of snow over night , a foot the day before , and almost a foot the day before that . So much power now can't even take the snow mobile out . Have to weigh till next weeks warm spell for the snow to settle some .

Wow! That's quite the accumulation!
We've got 2-3 inches on the ground in downtown Hamilton - Last couple of days I've cleared the snow off the path to the walkout basement with a stiff pushbroom...
