Nice work @Spike188 turned out nice.

I had the same situation down here. 2 inch of rain came down fast yesterday afternoon. Driveway looked like a creek bottom and the ditches all overflowed.
Got it fixed up but I’m keeping the tractors ready, they say we have another chance for storms Monday. :45:

So much for the dry summer they said we were going to have. Looks like @Eugen took it with him! :))

Well I’m officially saying that long range forecast we got in spring that predicted a drought this summer is blown. It won’t stop raining. We had another 5 inches over night and we were lucky. The town 10 miles south of us got 11. They are swamped.

North of you, we started out dry, wondering it the crops would germinate in the dry soil. Conventional farmers seemed to do the best as they bring up some moisture just before planting. The zero/limited till guys crops were looking pretty bad until the rains started just in time.

Where we are, the rains have been heavy but not excessive. Both corn and beans are looking great with the heat and humidity. Normally lawns are dormant here after June, we always felt that if people were still mowing at the 4th of July it was a great year. Right now, I can mow and see 1-1/2" of new growth within 24-36 hours. An hour away on the south side of Chicago, they had 5" in a short time yesterday.

Wow you guys got some bad down there . We had a crazy year so far by our standards . Excessive snow load , then a very wet start to spring , then went dry when crops were suppose to be germinating , latest has been stupid hot/humid stretches with a heavy :!: storm mixed in . Fortunately we have had some heavy dews that help water the plants that did grow . The last storm we just had gave us about 3" rain in couple hours , power outages from the high winds and some roof damage around the area . This is my clients driving shed .

It’s been so dry at my location, I’ve been watering my pumpkin garden. We had a few quick blasts of a downpour but the ninety degree heat dries that up in a hurry. I had to add water to my above ground pool the other day because so much had evaporated. When connecting the hose to the house faucet my sciatica reared up and grabbed me. So now I’ve been taking it easy. Getting old sucks. :43: :peace: Harry

Lawns dormant here too. I mowed for the first time in 5 weeks this past weekend. Weather dropped from the 90's to the 70's. Its overcast with smoke from the wildfires in Canada.

Air quality and wildfire maps from this evening.
