Well today is supposed to be that last of the rain, and naturally it had to be exciting. We had an inch and a half of rain and a tornado. It passed I’m guessing about a mile south of us. People around us got some amazing footage.
Tornado forming just to our south.

One house a couple of miles from us unfortunately had bad damage, roof completely gone, but thank god no one was hurt. They said their 9 year old son saw it coming and hid in the bathtub.

Thankfully we had no damage here. The poor garden took the worst of it as far as I can tell.
All the tomato plants and corn laid over on the ground.

I went out to take a look and I didn’t make it back in before the next wave of rain hit im soaked! Hopefully the plants will pop back up. If not I’ll stand them up again. I’ve had to do it before.

Now they say the rain will be done and we’re into hardcore summer with temp near 100F for the next week.

I’ll take the heat over days like today!

Good to hear your ok. Replant the garden as needed?

Its rained here every Saturday since March. Many cold and overcast days. Had to turn the heat on two weeks ago to warm the girls up. Today was the last cool day. 93F on Tuesday. Prior to yesterday's rain, the yard was getting crunchy.

@MattA I’m not going to replant anything. I lost a couple of things but we still have plenty. I went out in the mud tonight and tied up the tomatoes and stood the corn back up. Should be ok. Being so wet this last month or two I haven’t been able to do much so the weeds are going crazy. That was going to happen anyway, just happened sooner this year! :))

We got some of that too Matt . High 30's with high humidity feeling like high 40"s . Not pleasant , makes it hard to breath, sleep and do anything physical . I feel for anyone that has to work in that weather . Me I just hid in the shop where is was coolish if kept closed up and tinkered away between tending to the birds . Lost one hen to heat stress , but she had been sickly for a bit . Still not sure why .

Sorry to hear about the trouble there fellows. We're at the opposite spectrum here, no drop of rain in the last 3 weeks, and scorching sun.

It surely does look dry there. How do you like that walk behind sickle mower? Always wondered how easy they are to use.

We’re in triple digit heat index all week here. We did get a rain shower at the house yesterday but it didn’t break the heat, just added to the humidity :112: :))

@DavidBarkey I hear you, we have a sickly hen here too. I don’t think it’s heat stress. We have been treating her for a swollen crop. Not sure if she’s going to make it either.

I borrowed it from a neighbour. It's self propelled and if you go straight it doesn't require much effort. The big rotating hitch mowers they pull being the tractor here is too big for manoeuvring around the trees I planted. This one is more manageable, and they are very popular in Europe so many on the second hand market, which I'm also thinking of getting one.

People here don't have lawns, pretty much every inch of land is used for growing something because it's "allowed" to raise animals on any size land. Rarely you'll find a house without chicken and a pig.

Therefore this type of sickle mower is everywhere, and rarely you see a regular lawn mower. Sure I'd have liked a sickle mower on the tractor, but it'd be too complicated to drive it around the trees.

63F, overcast and breezy here today. Kids and I had to put on warmer clothes to go outside. Not complaining, its kind of nice compared to 101F

Wow, that's quite a swing!

Still 90-100 degrees here, but now 90% humidity and some scattered afternoon storms bringing much needed moisture. 6 tenths today in 10 minutes from a quick thunderstorm.
