Re: Unusual use of my 644

I had a large maple that I cut last fall. It had some large branches high up and couldn't get it to go the way I wanted. It was no problem if it went the other way, no buildings to fall on but it wouldn't have been on my property. My neighbor was cool with it because it was way in the back of our properties. I had the cut wedge and pounded it all the way into the tree. It still would fall. Usually we have a west prevailing wind but it was calm that day. I walked away from the tree to come in for lunch and finish it after eating. I was sitting in my kitchen and heard this loud crack and I looked out back and seen the tree down right where I wanted it. The wind had picked up and pushed the tree over. The trunk was close to 24" in diameter and took me two days to cut it up and move to my splitting area. Then the pulling of small branches to the burn pit and splitting up the big pieces. That tree warmed me up many times and I haven't burned it yet! LOL!
