After I hit a lotto, I have great plans for something better... Not so much for the expense, but man, I need the time to build things...

Toolslinger, you are correct. The Trac-Vac trailers are 4" wider at the back and the load of compacted leaves slides out nicely. (edited my post as each side tapers to 2" wider at the rear)

Would have been nice to have a Trac-Vac growing up. We had a craftsman with 42" cut and plastic bin bagger. I used to mow the neighbors lawn which would get covered in inches of oak tree leaves along the woods every week. The bagger could fill up in 20' or so. I found it was much easier to take the upper half of the bagger chute tube off and angle the lower half toward the woods. It would blow a stream of chopped leaves 20' into the woods.
