Well, I’m still plugging along at the wood. Getting it split up now. Son helped on the weekend and that speeded things up. Sister in law help a while today. I’d say it’s about 2.5 times slower with out the second person helping. Still lots to do.

Well. Still at the wood splitting today. Won’t be tomorrow or Sunday. Rain coming. But made great progress at it. Had help this afternoon. So that speeds things up greatly.

I might have missed it, but is some of this still Fiona wood?
Looks like the tractor, and splitter, and you are humming right along!

No Jeff. This is 8’ lengths we’ve had for a while. The hardwood is about 2 or so years old. And the softwood is about 5 years or so old. We bought the hardwood. And the softwood was free so we dragged it home. It was time to get it all cut up and get new 8’ hardwood piles soon.

Rough day splitting that Elm wood, or I think that’s what it is, heavy and awkward for this old fella. Stringy, but split not to bad, some pieces were nasty. So didn’t finish that pile, worn out. Be at it tomorrow, fresh as a daisy.
Took a couple of loads of junk into the woods with the MF14 bulldozer.
And found a new way to hold logs if they are too long, so I can cut them off.
Not to many rigs can tow their hooked wood splitter and cut the grass too.

More pictures. There is more than that done. Only a few logs left and trailer is mostly full.

Ok. Splitting is all done. Woo hoo. Now, to put all the split stuff away somewhere. Hehe. Never ends.
Anybody wants those two things in the last two pictures. Come and get them.

Cut up two nasty knotty Elm rounds yesterday with the homelite XL12. The only saw out of my four that would work. Then had one small piece to cut and the saw would not run. Me and chainsaws don’t get along very well.

Soooo, I fixed a saw some how

then cut up that last small piece of wood. Then got the Case 224 going and fired up the splitter. Splitting is all done. Every cut round of wood is done. Serviced up the splitter for winter storage and put it in its spot, until next year. Hopefully.
