I was mistaken about the engine, its an ms not bf.

Notice in the last image, there is no adapter plate. Would the one in the technical library under the parts heading ,fit this older version plow linkage? Also, if it works would someone please indicate which holes are used in this setup. It would be very much appreciated.

Every time I walk by the tractor, I say to myself "you knew what you were doing but what were you thinking" :headbash:
I keep finding the results of neglect from previous owner/owners. O well, live and learn.

I think I'll really learn about the tractor when I start repairs.

That's a good looking tractor! I'll look for the info about the plate and get back to you. True about previous owners, most tractors you get around here need work. The good news is that once you get it in shape you're good for many years.

Have a look at this

We have a manual somewhere in the technical library section that specifies which holes are for what, I'll see if I can find it.

Eugen, I saw that one in the library but my mounting bracket is different than what is shown. You can see what I mean in 2nd last image.

You have what would be called a over the top the axle lift mechanism. Someone has altered some pieces. But looks correct. This lift mechanism does not use a mid lift plate adapter. Look up the H50, H54 model as that's what you have.

Kieth, you have the older style "over the axle" mount. I'm pretty sure it just mounts to the pin on the rock shaft plate like a snow blower. I think you are good.

Looks real nice, but used often means repair work to get it correct. As an example, before you work it hard you need to get the rubber grommet that seals the side of the oil filter to the tin. Without this you lose enough air flow to the exhaust valve on that side of the engine to cause problems with the valve/ seat. Any of our trusted dealers will have them, last I saw I think they were like 7-8 bucks. Cheap insurance ;)

Here is the list of our trusted dealers,

Many thanks to all that replied.
Many more questions are bound to come up, once I really get going on it. I just noticed a botched repair weld on the bracket, and will make an attempt to rectify. My neighbor came over once after I welded new fenders on my trailer and said "looks like a strong welding job, but your last bead should be silicone".

I don't understand the silicone bead joke :D yet I want to laugh with you guys. What does it mean? :hm:

I'm glad you found the right answer for the plow Keith. Looks like we're missing measurements of the other adapter plate style. I'll see if I have one and measure and draw it myself. Doesn't hurt to have it in our library when someone else needs it.

A bead of silicone to smooth out and hide a rough/ugly weld ;) Body filler and thick paint work well also :spin:

Unfortunately me too! I guess I need to keep a can of body filler around!

@keith i think the tractor looks pretty good overall. I’m looking forward to you getting it going!
