Are you planning on using the sickle mower? I got this one but would like to somehow adapt it to attach to the front of one of the Case garden tractors.

I got most of the bend out, but I can’t quite get enough force on it with the 648. I had the back wheels off the ground! That all the pressure I’m gonna get with it!
I have to figure another way to get the rest out.

Yes I plan to use it. I already tried it with the bend in it on a small patch.

. It works but is has a heck of a wobble. I don’t want to destroy the u joints.

On yours I think Noel has the idea. Your GT would have the horse power but I don’t know if you would have the torque. It might work on flat ground it good grass conditions. That’s a pretty heavy unit. I think it would have been a 2 horse set up back in the day. You could always hitch to the back of you GT and see how it tows around.
Like Noel said your Massey would handle it fine.

I can pull my Deering with my 4118. It's a handful. You have to put at least 150lbs on it to get enough traction. Cutting grass with a bunch of old dead underneath plugs it up. Clean grass or alfalfa would go ok.
Mine is for sale. Taken up space and doesn't get used.

I'm going to go with my AC/simplicity 4' and power it with a hydraulic motor. When I find the time

@Eugen if you power it off the belt or hydraulic you should be good.

@Timj yes, that's my plan, to use just he scissors and power it up either with belt off the front pto, or hydraulic motor. But I don't like it under me to the side, I want it in front like the Gravelys. Just dreams for now, I don't have the time or skills to fab that.

That's me too, to many other projects and no time.
I've been doing a lot of thinking and planning, at this time, I'm really leaning towards mounting mine on the 3pt. Be easier than mid mount, more room and height adjustment, quick on and off, could use with deck on, and get a better view ahead of bar. :hm:

I got my PTO shaft about as straight as I can get it. I think it will work.

I put the bucket of the 648 under the hitch of the M and used a 3ton jack to bring it in line. Harry was right I’m finding all kind of things this machine can do!

Eugen,
I was thinking of a set up like timj is doing. Your idea of putting the mower out in front is interesting. I hope you get get a chance to build it. That would be a cool build!
