646 project

Bought this 646 in pieces. Had no rubber at all,new rears and good used fronts. Needed new loader arm bushings as rod was seized in old ones and rod had been cut. Needed new travel control and got a ccka from Saskatchewan. Lift cylinders are resealed and bucket cylinder waiting on new chrome rod from machine shop..not sure if going to paint or just use as is..going to see if decal shop can make new ones for loader arms at least

You certainly signed up for a lot of work but that will be a great machine when you're done. I would have lots of questions about what you've done already but I'll limit myself to one for now. Those rear tires, where did you source tired that fit s-o well the original rims?

BKT skid steer tires on original rims. Found them at Tirecraft

Dave180, That tractor that will save your back. A prime time for using it is when stuff in the back of a pickup can be, but shouldn't be, lowered by hand.

I brought home 2 loads of shop tools today and moved them into storage by strapping them into the bucket. The 646 met it's match trying to lift a old industrial 480 volt, 3 phase welder. Had to resort to forklift and alternate location for it.

The 646 is more than a toy in the toybox. It is a tool in the toolbox.

Even if you think you payed to much, just think what a Kubota loader would cost $$$$
these loaders are only go up in price
Sure, it will save your back but the time it will save you is money in the back

I gave happily $2,300 for my 644 and it has payed for itself the first two years I used it
