Another January thaw in December. 12C today. 10 mm of rain 80 kilometres south wind. Same tomorrow.
Above freezing temperatures until Friday when it drops to 0C Crazy weather. Jumpins the mosquitoes will be back out.
Noel
We had simular weather here . When it does finally get cold enough for the white stuff , I fear we we will get it in large quantities due to the lake affect of the Great Lake being open and warmer than usual . Others like Harry know exactly what I am talking about . Noel , do get that on the Island being in the St. Lawrence river ?
Yes we get a bit Dave. But just squalls, never really a lot of snow accumulation from them.
We hit 60F today. High winds and heavy rain fo the past 24hrs. Down trees nearby but not as bad as last year. Power is on here but several of my coworkers do not have power. For the 4th time in probably 5 years I lost shingles from my house. Wife picked up a chunk in the driveway this afternoon. I haven't seen the damage yet. Damn builder put on really cheap IKO brand shingles. The house is only 9 years old I've got a guy nearby who fixes my roof for <$100. He said IKO went bankrupt in the past from all the shingles they had to replace under a recall. He said he did nine roof replacements for the IKO shingle recall.
Similar weather to Noel... getting cold toward the end of the week. Snowblower is still not on.
Still warm here today. 10C for today. Wind and rain will slow way down this morning. Temperatures dropping to below freezing by Friday. Snow Friday. Then another January thaw for Christmas Day.
We've had a couple of cold ( normal) days, only low 20s yesterday, but warming up the rest of the week. Pushing 50 and rain for the weekend and Christmas.
We were in Marquette Michigan last weekend and there was no snow. They normally have a couple of feet by now.
Rain turned to snow last night. Only have an inch or so on the ground. Suppose to stop within the hour and then go up to the 40’s F. Looks like no snow for Christmas guys. Harry

Oh, crop! Sorry to hear about your shingles problem @MattA hope it gets fixed soon and no water makes it to your attic!
We've had a lot of rain these past few days. This just turned to snow about an hour ago.
As far as I could tell it's just one of the cap shingles. Guy is coming tomorrow to fix it and to fix my neighbors siding. He seemed happy I called. Had a break in his schedule waiting on materials.
6C here now. Dropping to 1C late this afternoon. Wind N at 40 kilometres. 5 mm of rain.
So that ends the January thaw in December. Friday is snow in the forecast. Could be a light snow fall or a storm.
But wait, there could be another January thaw on Xmas day. Stay tuned.
