It will go up more than that Matt. That’s just where I chose to run it. Normally I run it at 2750 or so. That’s it’s happy place.
Tractor is a bit slower at those rpm’s, so it’s easier to control where I’m going.
Less noise too. And it cuts fine. Lots of power too, right at the highest torque range at those rpm's. Always showing charge on the amp gauge, with the daytime running light on.

No sign of the motor overheating. And less fuel consumption.
You know guys, you don’t need full throttle operation to cut your grass if your doing it every 5 to 7 days. There’s no load there. My 8hp mower riding mower, I only use at 3/4 throttle or less. New tractors for households are running 22 to 25 hp twin cylinder motors. All kinds of power. No need for full throttle. If you have not cut the grass for 2 weeks, there’s more load. So you have to speed up a bit. If your into a hay field, we’ll then you need full throttle, to cool the engine because of that load. Just my thinking, will not be the same as yours.
Jumpins, a mowing and engine speed ramble. Coffees good this morning.
