Hi gang, do any of you have any experience with diesel space heaters?
I'm kinda tempted to get something like this below. Most reviews are pretty good, an economical way to heat up a shop or even good for power loss for those of us that depend on electricity to heat the house. What do you guys think?

Re: Diesel shop heater
That’s what they use in road tractors id say. Buddy of mine has his own truck repair shop and he has one of those in his half ton truck to keep it warm.
I’d say go for it Eugen. Not a whole of money.

That's a nifty little unit... Now, if I only had a cab on a tractor to heat...
I expect it would be better than nothing for a small space, particularly if you've got decent insulation.

Re: Diesel shop heater
Been thinking of making the Simplicity a dual fuel tractor by mounting one of these in the cab, the motor faces the wrong way to get any heat off of it without some ugly ductwork running from the grill back to the cab, and there is not a lot of room up front with the blower on so would have to make the ducting easily removable just to open the hood. These old bones don't care much for the cold any more
One drawback is the last I saw, diesel here was $5.39 a gallon

Diesel fuel here is $2.82 per litre. Opps, just checked, dropped today. it’s now $2.68 per litre. First of the week it was $2.97.

There are smaller wattage units available too. With the snow we're getting I'm getting tired of cleaning the tractor seat continuously, and wouldn't it be nice to have a warm cab too? -- I'm telling myself, yes.Gordy wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 12:39 am Been thinking of making the Simplicity a dual fuel tractor by mounting one of these in the cab, the motor faces the wrong way to get any heat off of it without some ugly ductwork running from the grill back to the cab, and there is not a lot of room up front with the blower on so would have to make the ducting easily removable just to open the hood.
