Hi all! Does anyone know a Source for a model/serial number data plate for a case 442? Trying to refurbish the tractor and I am stuck with this ugly thing. Not sure what it looks like new.

I have a few parts tractors and would happily send you a plate, but none of them is a 442. Also not sure in what shape the plate is on all of them, haven't paid attention to that, but most likely one of them would be in better shape than yours. Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks for the offer. But I am trying to find a new repo that’s blank and then stamp my numbers on. I don’t know if any of the repo companies make them or not? I am also not sure what it originally looked like.

I think that there is someone making them and will either sell them blank or with your numbers on them. He used to advertise in the "Old Abe" magazine, I'll try to find that information.

Since the plates are stamped with the model and serial number, if there was a decal with the rest of the information one can conceivably clean up the old plate and apply such decal.

There are a few different styles of these plates. Here are a few of mine, for the record.

I wonder what that means. And what language it it is. This is on one of Eugen’s plates and it’s on my 446 plate.
Just wondering. May not be any thing.

That's right Noel, it says registered trademark in Spanish. The symbol "R" in a circle also signifies that a trademark has been registered in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Several years ago I saw blank plates for sale on ebay. Maybe take a look and see if you can find them?

Perhaps because the US has a large Spanish speaking minority? This would be my guess... :?:

I found these for sale. Could probably remove the implement text and stamp the new numbers?

Looks like they're original Case. Shouldn't be hard to remove that word.
