I have a 3018 with locked up Onan is it possible to convert the electric clutch off the on the 3018 to the3118?
Also the power steering on the 3118 is slow to turn compared to the manual steering. There are no visible leaks, and it is not low hydraulic fluid .

TDL, welcome aboard. If you are a new owner of this tractor, the type of oil could be part of the issue. They do not use hydraulic oil. 10-40 engine oil is used with most of us using Rotela or equivalent. I have an 4118 that a previous owner took apart and is on my bucket list for restoration. But first things are to finish restoration of a 646B, then a Colt 9, and possibly anther Colt in storage. before making time for the 4118.

@TLD89 welcome to the CCIGT forum, good to have you here. :highfive:
Looks like you have some things going on. :smash: Tell us more.
The All Hydraulic tractors are kind of a different animal and don't interchange easily with the other tractors.

Most say they're spoiled by their power steering. I have never noticed mine to not be fast enough. I would start by checking to see if the spindles are turning free and not creating a ton of resistance. If they are free then I would start looking for a way to check the flow and pressures in the steering circuit.

You say your Onan is locked up... So you mean the steering is slow when the tractor isn't running? If so, that's perfectly normal. With the engine running the steering is fast and easy.

Bob, Good call on that one. I completely missed that first sentence. Steering will be stiff and slow at best with the engine not running. If the Onan is locked up it likely has a broken connecting rod although there is a long list of other possible reasons.

Spike.
