Paint Ideas

As it's cold in the garage, and School has my funds a little low, I'm in the thinking-more-than-doing stage.

This has me going over and over how I'm going to paint the 220, and I thought I would see what cool jobs some of you have done!

My first 646 restoration in 2019 started with having everything sandblasted and primed. Painting was done with a 3 part epoxy, outdoors, at home.

Lately I have been buying "rust enamel" and spraying it with universal hardener and reducer . Outside due to the isocyanide in the hardener . Allmost all hardeners contain it , so must be used with care . Been getting some good results and durability.

I’ve painted a few but not in a long time. I always did the prep work over winter and paint outside on a nice low humidity summer day. None of mine were show quality by any stretch, but I was always happy with the results.

The paint jobs on these two are 15 to 20 years old now. The pictures are kind but they still look decent for tractors that get used.

Looks great CaseIngersollNE. Question with all of your paint jobs... have you done a paint scheme with a black frame but painted the tower potion power red to match the rest of the tractor?. My 4016ps I want to paint this way but haven't seen one painted this way.

Tim your right about the red and black colors looking terrific. I also like the orange and black looking nice. I found a couple of the old flamebeau rattle cans at the Case dealership here. I tried some of that next to the power red and they are close but the flamebeau looked to be a darker red. :peace: Harry
