I could use that engine. But it has the big base. I need the smaller one. $450.00 a bit pricey.

I read somewhere that some of these have holes drill and tapped for the small pan as well . The ones that don't can be drill and tapped if not . I have not done it but read it somewhere . I think one of the GT pulling sights . It wouldn't take much to adapter plate to sit in 446 chassis .

If you swapped out the Onan for the K341 you would still have 16hp . Just something to do in all your spare time .

I’m not familiar with the K341. Would the larger pan hold more oil? I would think if yes, that would be a plus. Does the K341 shake more than the K321? :peace: Harry

In all seriousness, that 446 is going to be sold as soon as I get my act together to make sure it's working fine. I would not replace the Onan with a k341 though, seems to me too much work for getting something I already have plenty of. At the moment I have a few parts tractors, plus fully functioning: two 644, one 444, one 224, and the 446. It's no secret the k321 is the engine I like most. You guys can have all the Onans!

I was thinking the same thing Dave while wrote my post. And I should know the answer, but it escapes me at the moment.
The splash oil dipper may have to be a different length also between the two bases.

Noel

Ya, the more I think about I don’t think they can interchange Dave. The wider block has openings for a dip stick. If you put the smaller base on the bigger block, it won’t cover those openings. And the opposite the other way, I think. So if you had a small block, you could not put a big block on because it would not contact the gasket because of the dip stick hole.
I could be rambling, but I think that’s correct. I see if I can find some pictures.

Ok two pictures. One is the small block, other big block. The part on the big block I marked with red is where a dip stick could go. On either side.
And in order to put the small base on the big block, some people have filled in where those openings are on the big block, then the small block will then seal on the gasket.

There thats about as much as I know. Still could be rambling, so don’t take it as absolutely correct.

There are two amount's of oil in them Harry, as far as I know. One is two litres , the other is one and a half litres. And I can’t remember which amount goes with which oil base pan.
I have Harry, one K241, two K301’s, four K321’s and one K341. I really don’t see any differences in shaking in any of them. Most of mine have the balance, “grenade”, gears removed, also.
