New to the Case world - 446

Post by BrodsCase »

Hello everyone! Just picked up a 446 w/ snowblower & mower this past weekend and going to pick up a 444 w/ attachments from a forum member this coming weekend. I hope to learn lots from all you wonderful people as the future unfolds.

I'm from Eastern Canada (ON)
Interests: many; gardening, motorcycles/dirtbikes, tinkering and repairing things, and more recently - tractors lol

Big welcome to the Case garden tractors world and also to the site here. Hopefully you'll like it here, lots of knowledgeable people and friendly too. From your description I'd say you fit right in with the rest of the tinkerers :creeper:

@BrodsCase welcome aboard! I see you have been smitten by the CGIT virus. There is no known cure. 18 years ago the first first 444 showed up at our house. There is always an urge to purchase every CGI tractor that is advertised in our area.

Enjoy.

@Harry Well here she is in all her glory! Kinda overcast but made for an okay picture, bonus no glare ;) Somebody got ahold of a few lengths of wire and some toggle switches late at night it seems lol. Switch by left knee isn't connected to anything except 1 single wire & terminal coming off of it and going nowhere. Top right goes to an electronic fuel pump under the tractor. Top left (blk) is for the headlights. I'm pretty handy with wires so I'm sure I'll have that sorted out in short order, once I get her running anyway lol. Cosmetics aren't a big deal to me, 9yrs as a painter, a couple aviation companies mostly urethane and a little bit of lacquer.

Came with:
-snowcaster (missing long linkage that goes to the operator)
-Not sure what the separate piece with the pulleys is, but I dont think its supposed to be bent like that lol.. For the snowcaster?
-Another piece that seems like its for the snowcaster. Can yall confirm these 2 things?
-A useable deck (afaik)
-A parts deck (missing some pieces)

If you guys have any questions; shoot! If you want a closer pic of something let me know! & If you have any advice for me or you see something you can make sense of for me I'm all ears!! Thanks in advance!

Thank you all for the warm welcome! This seems like the right place that's for sure! Extra thank you to Eugen for the referral, wouldn't be here and learning so much so soon if it weren't for you!

Filter housing was black, was curious how random red spray can in my basement would look.

The top link is for the snow caster , lift link . the long tab attached to it is to support the chute crank.
The second is not familiar to me but I beleave it is a mule drive for an earlier model.

Yes, a mounting for a pre-snap fast deck. '69-70 200/400 or 150 to 195 you get the idea. Not for this 446.

The mufflers on your Onan look unusual to me, but I like the look. I’m sure you’ll get it sorted out soon. Thanks for the pics. :peace: Harry

There the same ones I put on the 446 Blower Tractor only vertical mount instead of machine gun mount like I did .
