New to the site and case tractors!
hey there I'm new here and just got interested in fixing up old tractors. I have been fixing old junk my whole life out of necessity and now it's become another hobby/ sickness. I joined this site to get some info on my 1978 case 222 that I want to get up and running. any help on where to get parts and any pointers on fixing/ maintaining this tractor would be greatly apretiated! so far I have the engine pulled and completely stripped down talked to the man from engine bore .com and will probably be doing business with him. my blocks been butchered by someone and is in rough shape. at this point it May be cheaper to buy a refurbished motor..... anyway good to be here I have read lots of helpfull posts already and look forward to learning more! thanks guys!

Welcome to CCIGT @knappett , its good to have you here. We have a number of very knowledgeable and friendly members, so ask away. Sounds like a Case tractor will fit you well, but be warned, they tend to multiply. Parts are available new and used, not quite as easy in . Hope you enjoy your time here and join in.

I'm just north of orillia. there's a k301 in wasaga beach I was thinking about looking at but i don't know what shape it's in either. mines already bored .030 over and is so sloppy i can wiggle the piston side to side in the cylinder. it also needs valve guides and the seats done. my ez clutch has been broken and brazed at some point as well.... I'm having fun cleaning it up though! I'm not going to do a full restoration but I do want it fixes up nicely and will post pictures as I go along.

@knappett Welcome to the 12 tractor program. Most of us started with just one tiny tractor. It was just a fixer upper for our own use. If only we could stop after just one.
You are in a prime location for finding help and advice. Mike at Engine bore is great help also and does great work.
Thanks for joining us.

Welcome knappett to CCIGT, the home of friendly knowledgeable GT owners. I have a few myself one of which is a 226 which needs some attention. It has a Onan B series twin cylinder engine in it. You could always put a 321 Kohler in your 222 which would give you a few extra horses and maybe easier to find. Good luck on your project GT and I think you will like it here. Harry

@knappett welcome to the site and the addiction . I am in Waverley , less than an hour from you . I have a colection of used parts and some knowledge with these tractor I can share . As for the engine in Wasaga beach, I also am looking at it for old cub cadets . It would need the boss machined in it to accept the pump bracket .

Welcome @knappett ... many of us came here looking for info and advice on our first Case/Ingersoll tractor - The technical section with all sorts of manuals is really helpful.
Be careful though, I started with one and before I know what was happening their numbers grew like a couple of bored rabbits on a cold winter night (currently have a 195, 222 and a 446)
it's also nice to see another too - I'm from Hamilton area
