Looks like my engine code is also 01.

Here is my transaxle. As far as I know the webbing is cast in. I've seen some older backhoe transaxles with smaller webbing. This late model transaxle has the updated differential and slightly different gearing. It's slightly faster in low range and slightly slower in high range.

When you get around to it, change the transaxle oil. There is some info around on the weight and fill levels. The side of the transaxle has two pipe plugs with square heads. The upper one is to check the fill level, the lower is the drain. The older case tractors had higher fill levels and some people fill the newer transaxle to a higher level. I filled mine to the plug level in the rear by the hitch. The other members here might have some more info/opinions.

I did change the transaxle oil, filled it up to the check bolt but I did see some owners are filling it right up to the top. I followed what was recommended in the owners manual. I used 80w90 since I had some on hand. Planning to run it for a bit then changing it again in case there was left over of the old oil in there. Will do the same for the engine and hydraulic oil.

Some other things I recommend doing are:
1. Adjusting the steering gear shims to tighten the steering up.
2. Replacing the front axle pin with one sold by xetta on ebay. What a difference that makes. I wish I had spent the money sooner. My steering may have been looser due to having the snowcaster on the front.
3. Look up poor man's power steering. For $20-30 this makes the tractor much easier to steer especially with the snowcaster lifted up.

Thanks for the info, ill look into it. Not sure I fully get your first item its a mix of not being super mechanically inclined and speaking French. Not that I would know what you're talking about anyway ;)

Thanks for the write up! Very well explained with the reference to the picture I feel I'd be able to tackle this. I had looked at that YouTube video for the axle pin. Will get the parts over the winter and might wait for spring to install it all. Its getting cold outside and I'm not done finishing the garage interior.... too many projects lol!
