That's good news about the tractor being fixed Dave! Where did you find that plastic fixing kit and the stainless mesh?

Propane57 wrote: Sat Nov 05, 2022 7:43 am Never heard of that here yet having to have trailer tire on trailer. Is that because of inspection Dave, that it’s that way ?

Noel
Yes with the annual safety required for all trailers of more 1 axle must have working brakes and must appropriate specifically designed tires for the application , ie trailer tires for a trailer that suit the load rating of trailer .
This is what happens when you give a lic. out to people without have them pass a common sense test . Government has to Cidiot proof it all.
I started to go on a rant, but decided I probably shouldn’t! Thankfully we don’t have that here yet. We can still get a “forever trailer plate” and no inspections. The kind of goofy thing here is the year of your vehicle. If I want to get our project truck licensed now it’s only good for 1 year because it’s a 1961 and this is 2022. If I wait till 2023 I can get it licensed for 2 years because there both an odd year. Had it been a 1960 I would have to get it licensed in an even year for 2 year tags. Figure that one out!

I’m glad you were able to improvise a repair and the tractor is good to go. They should have a good tractor for a long time now!

I had wanted to add another axle to my trailer for the longest time but I definitely don't want to deal with the safety every year :(
