444 deal or no deal
I was contacted by someone who has a 444 with no engine. GT has a mowing deck and he wants $200 for it. What do the members think? Deal or no deal? Harry

Re: 444 deal or no deal
I would jump on it if it has a working accessory clutch or a holding valve and a tight steering gear.

I think if it were me I’d want to go see it for sure. Depending on the condition of what’s there who know what kind of deal you can strike.
Good luck, and happy hunting!

See if the mowing deck has the steel spindle housings or the cast aluminum housings which corrode. The steel housings fetch about $50 each.

Harry I see you have only 5 Case GT's, you might want to round that number up one. I know I would give it a look over given the chance.

Re: 444 deal or no deal
I have a 444,446,644,646 and a 226. I’m thinking of selling the 226 which was given to me, it has some issues. Then possibly find a 448. I know a guy who has one that is ready to go, I’m just not willing to pay what he wants for it. Harry

Re: 444 deal or no deal
I spoke today with the seller of the $200 444. He sent me some pics which I will share with you all. Looks like a parts GT to me. Harry
