Jeff, Noel , Tim , Bill , I Agree too . There only repeatedly asked question because the issue is new to that person or it has not happened to someone in such at as they do not remember . It can be difficult to find the answer if unsure of how ask the question or where to look . Everyone back ground and experiences are different . If we all just found our own information , what would be the point of the site . Just have digital library instead . But that the point , it is to interact with others . If someone feels that it is beneath them or otherwise anoid by the question , just keep scrolling . Someone else will help them .
You may keep the change .

Bill
I found the "read before you ask" comment on another site to be a little off putting as well - and was happy there wasn't anything like that when I joined here.

As for an FAQ page - it could be helpful to have some info as a "sticky" at the top of a section. I would certainly use a quick reference list when I get older and start forget little things - like "righty-tighty, lefty-loosey?", "How does the neutral safety switch work?" and - "can I use 15w40 everywhere except the fuel tank?" I think it would make it easier to find the simple, quick little answers for everyone...

Bottom line for me is that I like the fact that we encourage interaction with those who ask questions and those who want to reply - rather than a brusque "you must be a newbie - go look in the FAQ"

Another great paragraph, and again I agree.
People come to these sites to chat with other people for entertainment and information.

Just my short ramble.

Friendly Schmiendly!

I say we have a flame war!

I'll go first: you MUST use Rotella brand 15w40 in both your engine and hydro system.

Anybody who does anything else doesn't know nuthin'.

Well I met a guy who has been running used cooking oil in all his Ingersoll machines for over 75 years, and he's never had a problem with it!

Okay, full disclosure:

That last post was a joke. Just a joke. Do not run cooking oil, new or used, in any part of your Case / Ingersoll machine.

Unless you've got one of those diesel ingersolls. In which case you apparently can burn it as fuel. But you still can't run it in your engine's crankcase.

Just to be clear. It was a joke.
