Posting ad with working links and pictures

This is an abbreviated step by step method for sharing ads from Kijiji and other sites for viewing on this site after the ad is removed from the host site.

In this instance the umbrella ad is the first one listed as Ingersoll-Case .

When the link was opened the http// address read like this.

http//ww..;jiji.ca has been trimmed for this example so that is shows the script that is causing the issues. This is the script that must be edited /v-view-details.html?adId=1618787971&utm_source=alerts&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Kijiji_Search_Alerts&utm_term=643661189


https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.ht ... =643661189
This address will not function when pasted to CCIGT and will lead to "this add not found" or is "no longer available


This is the address after it has been trimmed to work. Again http//ww...jiji.ca has been removed to show the workin script after editing. /v-view-details.html?adId=1618787971

When the address is trimed to remove extra script it will lead to the working ad.

It has be trimmed to show only the initial add ID and will look like this.

To post pictures linked to add, click on the image you want to share

Select "Copy Image"

then return to your CCIGT post and paste it into the thread.

As a side note the links in this post will stop working when ad is removed from Kijiji. If you have any questions private message me Spike188 or reply to this thread.

Kijiji just proved me wrong this afternoon. Not only is the untrimmed link functioning. Copy and pasting the link into the post without pasting it between the url bracketing also takes it to a working Kijiji ad.

That might explain why sometime I can get links ect. to work and sometimes not. I thought it was just me .

Thank you @Spike188 ! One of the things I noticed is that such operations are both browsers specific and OS specific. For instance I can drag an image from one window to another in Safari, the native browser of MacOS and it inserts the link to the Kijiji ad. I wish there was a feature in the site forum software that could creste a post automatically from a craigslist or kijiji ad.
