This weight bracket was posted on Kijiji today. It would be easy to duplicate but pricey to fill. :pig:

How's many 40 lbs weights do you think it can hold? I find my weight box behind the 644 very handy. It's full of 40 lbs weights too.

It looks like 6 to me.

That's 240 lbs. 150 for the bracket, about 500 for the weights.

Or you could buy 4 ea. 60 lb. bags of concrete for $5 each, and find a 20" long 5/8" steel shaft and a single 8 foot stick of rebar for $8.

For a grand total of $35 and some used plywood for a form you could have yourself a very nice 3 pt. counterweight.

I worked out the dimensions for a 325lb version for a cat 1 hitch, and it works wonderfully.

If anyone is interested, I'd be glad to draw up plans for a 240lb Cat 0 version.

Well, well, Bob, but you forget the old saying "there's appeal to using steel!" I got my suitcase weights for 20 a piece, 40 lbs each and am happy about it. :spin:

Sure, concrete will do the same thing. :65:

I like Bob went with concrete as it was cheaper . Using buckets and scrap steel I all ready had , my was even cheaper build .
But the bracket and suitcase weight allow for 7 different weight options. Plus it looks like it has provisions for a trailer hitch to be bolted on . Versatility is the main advantage to this one .
I like them both .
Each has it's own merits depending on your needs and pocket book .
