Case 195 - 44 mower deck

When using my 195 to cut grass I for the first time I discovered a few little things needed fixing / adjustment, thought I would make a post for it...
The attachment lever wouldn't latch into the "up" position. Poked around and found the height adjustment rod wasn't in the right place, it's possible when going on/off the trailer the deck might have pushed up too far towards the tractor. The "L" shaped adjustment rod stop was now behind the lever instead of in front of it, blocking the lift lever from pulling all the way back and locking into the notch.
Backed off the stop nuts (found a parts manual later and it's supposed to be a wing nut) and tried to wiggle it back into position. Just wasn't going to move back into place.
Out came the Milwaukee 12V cordless zipcut
Looks like the "hook" part of the rod has lots of wear...
and I cut the rod and fished the "hook" part out of the block with a small magnet
Going to fab up a new rod from a suitable 3/8" bolt and install it later.
Also thought the deck was very wibbly/wobbly and loose on the support linkages
- looked closely and there is enough play that the rear rollers almost touch the back tires - not so good.
Pins and slots in the brackets are very worn and need a little building up.
Also remembered I need to make a latching lever for the park brake to be able to lock it in the on position
More photos when the deck is off and the support brackets have been fixed up...
