Metal Sculpture
Here are three pics of our St. Bernard who passed. Where the dog was brown I covered with carbon steel so it would rust. Where the dog was white I covered it with stainless steel. It's about three feet tall and quite the conversation piece. The wasps like to build nests inside in the summer and I don't want the grand kids to get stung. So I hang moth balls inside and it keeps them away.

That is really cool Harry. A great way to honor a true companion.

Re: Metal Sculpture
Yes Toby our dog was a true companion. He would come into the shop when I was out there and keep me company. I sure miss him, but yet I don't because of all the extra work that had to be done to care for him.
The chain head was cool. That is a lot of chain used to make that head. I've collected some but not enough to make a head that size.
The pic below is my initials made in chain. I picked it out of the scrap a few years back. I also made a branding iron with the same monogram. I would heat up and brand my welding gloves at work. Trying to make sure no one would take them.

I ran across this one at a delivery stop, the components are all automatic transmission parts.

Harry, you're right, where to get so much chain from?! I bet you wish to have a friend who owns an auto-mechanic shop to her your hands on more scrap metal!
Bob, I'd like that owl in my front yard!

Re: Metal Sculpture
I haven't made any in awhile, but I use to make a lot of Stainless steel flowers for gifts. Here are just a couple from my shop. I'll have to dig up some others that I have.
