Thought I’d put up a few pictures here of todays fun.
I tried out the sickle mower I worked on the other day. Worked good!

Still got a couple of things to do to it but no big deal

I have this old wagon I decided to take a look at.

Decided we didn’t need the tail gate on it for the things we’ll be doing with it.
It’s kind of heavy

so I had son bring the 648 around.

Back hoe was a little too short, but the bucket worked!

That the way it was when we got it. From the documentation I got with the tractor the original owner bought the tractor to use for his swimming pool company. I assume he made the this seat set up. The tractor seat doesn’t seem to have a provision to fold back to the backhoe. The backhoe seat is on its own post. Maybe he used the backhoe on different machines?
Both seats were rotten so I replaced them with these.

The backhoe seat is held in with a pin. I modified it so you can leave it on the machine and swing it out of the way when not in use. Kind of a clunky setup, but it works!

That sickle mower sure worked fine @JSinMO ! Watch out soon enough you won't get seat time on that 648, your son's taking quite a liking to it! :D

So far so good! I still have to try it in the tall stuff hopefully it performs as well.

He really likes it! If he ends up with the tractor bug like all of us have we’ll be arguing over who gets to use it!

Thanks for the pictures Harry. I wandered how theses we’re supposed to be set up. Your seat set up makes sense. That raises more questions about why mine is the way it is.

There are worse things for him to take a liking to.

That’s very true. I hope he keeps wanting to work with this stuff. Thats one reason I really wanted to get a GT. He’s not big enough yet to safely operate my other tractors. When I brought this thing home I saw his eyes light up. And I can see he’s gaining confidence with it.
I wouldn’t really argue with him over it, I’ll be thrilled that he wants to work with it!
