New tractor to me

Yeah, I know I have a lot of business buying another tractor right now. Here's the story.
My Cousins husband bought this tractor new in 1964 from a dealer in Cordell, Oklahoma. Cordell is located about 30 miles North of where I currently live.
He passed away a couple of years ago and my youngest brother ended up buying the tractor at his estate sale. A couple of days ago my brother called me and said he was ready to sell the tractor. (Short Version)

The tractor is a 1963 Massey Ferguson 65 High Clearance Style tractor running on propane. Needs a little work due to dual clutch not acting right. Best I remember they do not have a lot of adjustment to them. Not the easiest thing in the world to split to install new clutch but can be done easy enough. Tractor came with brush hog and drag type rear blade.

I am very happy to have it and can't wait to restore it this summer.

Hi Terry, it's no secret that I like the Masseys of that era. I have a Massey Harris 33 and, although I don't really have a good use for it, it hurts me the thought of selling it.

Are you going to keep it on propane? I once had a Ford Crown Victoria that was running on propane. :D

Looking forward to seeing what you're going to do with your MF.

Nice find. She’d have a clean engine running on propane. Propane engines had more compression than gasoline ones. High crop tractor are sorta rare. One of my tractor buddies has a Farmall AV high crop tractor.

Yes, I will keep it on propane. Propane works very well in this area and pretty easy to get

I like you don't have a great use for it anymore but like I told my wife, (I wanted it, not needed it). I can use the shredder and blade leveling something. lol Just wanted to restore it to the way it once was or better.

When I was a kid we were customer harvesters and started in Texas and ended up in Torquay, Canada every year. My dad and and his brother and other family members normally ran 6 - 12 combines and trucks. We did this from the time I was born until early 1970's. When we left Canada we would go to Mississippi to cut soybeans. During winter time we had a truck salvage and wrecker service.

From the time I can remember, all of our equipment was ran on propane/and or gasoline.. Cars, pickups, trucks, combines, tractors, etc. During the last few years that I went, we were changing over to diesel on most of the equipment. When I quit my brothers and cousins were still doing the same thing. Now most of them are gone but I have 1 cousin that still does it. He is based out of Arizona. HE told me he is retiring in the next few years and moving to Mexico to go fishing. lol

Not sure how true his statements about being a rare tractor are but this is a interesting video. The tractor I just got is a 1963 MF 65 High Clearance tractor on factory Propane. I just hope some day mine looks this good again.

What a great looking tractor, and it's a rare model too! Not long ago someone posted pictures of one in the Massey collector group on facebook
