My wife is the same way. But because she is used to the Simplicity, the controls on a CCI are mirror image of the Simplicity. She found out the the lift lever did NOT slow the Ingersoll down as she approached a tree

I don't get much practise, there is a reason most of the pictures only show the welds after cleanup But I had about 15 years factory welding under my belt before I went into construction as a heavy equipment operator in 2001. That was mig and tig, very little stick. It is strange going from mig where you see what you are putting down, to stick welding where the weld is covered in a puddle of flux and you just hope it turns out decent. The biggest issue with welding is cleanliness. I have worked on a couple neighbours tractor loaders, grinding out the kitchen sponge welds that broke. Because someone thought they could weld through paint and grease I miss the welding emoji.

Weeeell now that you mention it, the works but is not always a replacement for the palm slap to the forehead

If anyone could describe the welding emoji because I honestly don't remember it, I'll take a stab at it

My wife asked if she could drive my old 442 (lots of hills, no holding valve, practically no brakes) and I told her, "Trust me, you don't want to try."

The newer Ingersoll has a holding valve and way better brakes. She'd probably do fine on that. But she won't bother to ask now.

I got a mower just for her: a key start, rear wheel drive, self propelled Honda push mower. Nothing's too good for my girl!

It was on the other site. A smiley guy with a welding helmet that would flip down and strike an arch.

Gordy, thanks for the memory jog. That one will be a bit of a challenge but will be fun to attempt.

Well had a few small honey do items today. Then filled the hydraulic oil and connected the battery, turned the key and nothing WIggled the wires on the back of the ignition switch while holding the key in the start position,it would crank intermittently as I wiggled the wires. Found rusty spades on the switch, cleaned them with a Q tip and Lysol toilet cleaner, rinsed and coated with dielectric grease, also cleaned female connectors in the plastic plug.
Reassembled, hit the key and still no go While holding the key again I reached in to wiggle the wires again and bumped one of the wires on the amp meter and the starter engaged. It is the barrel slide on type of connector, the barrel broke at the crimp. Fixed that and she started up, went for a spin around the yard all good Put the mower deck on and tested it Then put the vac on tight fit on this tractor compared to the other but got it mounted and tested, then
