Yea, the big area is 10' off the ground to start with. We never had an issue with the porches. Twice someone managed to pry open the double layer 2x6 shutters that cover the small windows on the opposite side of the house. They're secured with 3" steel channel now. There will be no more prying...
Nothing is perfect, and people could cut their way in if they wanted to, but making it really inconvenient is the main goal. If they need more than a crowbar, I'm hoping they just find someone else to steal from.
