Cub Cadet
About fifteen years ago my 446 quit running. Working a lot of hours and not much time to fix it I purchased a brand spanking new Cub Cadet for mowing grass. I’ve taken care of it and it has a 48” mowing deck and a Kohler 24 hp engine. I like the way it can mow and maneuver around trees and bushes, it has a foot control for drive and reverse. Last week the mowing belt kept coming off so I removed the deck, which is not to hard for inspection. There is a 3/8” bolt through the deck that holds the idler pulleys on. Under the pulley attachment arms the deck had a spider web crack. I ended up cleaning the deck and welded on the deck top and bottom two pieces of 1/4” plate that I drilled a 3/8” hole in them. I also welded the head of the 3/8” bolt on the 1/4” plate under the deck. After painting and reinstalling the idlers and belt it now works terrific. I guess fifteen years of service is not to shabby for a non Case GT. : highfive: Harry
