Took thse pics by work today. Something doesn't seem right... This is new construction. The old family run restaurant here closed in covid. The restaurant and garage were demolished with an excavator. Where the restaurant and parking lot stood, 6 of these houses are being built.

I know what probably happened:
They wanted to get rid of that pole, but it was being held by a pole lock.

That is true. I have to get creative a lot of the time. Most of my antiques aren’t in their computer. I used to tell them what it was for just to see the blank look on their faces! Now for instance if I need something for the engine on Herbie the 1961 F550 I have to tell them to look up a 1958 Ford Fairlane!
